HM: Crafting a Visual Identity for a Master’s Project

This project focused on helping a client prepare a professional and visual identity for the final stage of her master’s degree. As she began presenting her research in schools across Denmark, she needed branded materials that would clearly communicate her work, reflect her academic tone, and make her presentations stand out.

Our role was to support her in developing a consistent brand foundation — including a logo, color palette, tone of voice, and presentation materials — that aligned with the purpose of her project and the audience she was speaking to.

Main Goal

The primary goal was to create a cohesive and visually appealing identity that would elevate her master’s project and help her communicate her ideas with clarity and confidence during her school presentations.

She needed materials that were:

  • Professional and academically appropriate

  • Easy to understand for her target audience (school staff, educators, and students)

  • Visually consistent across all formats

  • Supportive of her narrative and research process

Research & Discovery

Before we began designing, we explored:

  • Her target audience: Which schools she was visiting, who would be viewing her presentations, and what tone would resonate best with them.

  • Her project’s purpose: The message she wanted to deliver and how visuals could strengthen it.

  • Brand personality: How she wanted to be perceived — approachable, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and academically solid.

Brand Development

Logo Design

We designed a simple, clean logo that reflected both her professionalism and the analytical nature of her research. The identity needed to feel academic, yet friendly and accessible.

Tone of Voice

Together, we defined a tone of voice that was:

  • Clear

  • Informative

  • Supportive

  • Confident

This ensured her communication style felt consistent across presentations and printed materials.

Color Palette

We selected colors that supported her message without overwhelming it — a palette that balanced warmth and professionalism, helping her content stand out while staying suitable for educational environments.
